Review on πŸ”Š Skar Audio EVL-65 D4: 6.5" 400W Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Car Subwoofer - Superior Sound and Performance! by William Auditore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A big plus for such a small sub.

My 2004 Avalanche doesn't have much room for subwoofers at all. I first bought an RT 6.5 kicker for it and it worked fine. but I wanted a little bit more. I built the box in the first photo 13" x 18" x 5". It is tuned and lined to 40 HRT. I put a spare speaker grille on top to keep the seat from damaging the subwoofer when folded. and this little guy hooked up to my amp all I can say is the Holly Hell Bat Mat! This little sub puts out more bass than the 10" subwoofer I had in my 2000 Silverado. Sounds clear and plays loud. After day one I'm back and ordered two more for my Silverado. I built a center console to replace the jump seat/center console it had by using a 6 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 37" floor used for the extra box. One up front and one to the back seat also set to about 40 HRT. I hook it up to a 500w RMS amp and it pops. I listen mostly to country and old rock and it sounds great paired with JBL GTO 6.5 components up front and Skar FSX65-4 300. - 6.5" midrange Dedicated 4 ohm speakers in the back seat. I set the crossovers to 100 HRT for the front and rear speakers as I get more than enough bass from the subwoofers. Skar Audio wins for its money. When space is tight, these subwoofers are unbeatable at any price.
