This webcam meets my needs as an online university student. I use it to take proctored exams online. The webcam is used to monitor me during the exam. I have to show my ID at the start of the exam, and while I had concerns about the autofocus feature (my school required a manually adjustable one), this webcam managed the process when I needed to get my ID on 3 inches of the webcam cameras. The picture quality is very good, very clear and my inspector can see the expiry date of my ID card in lower case. The tripod I used was just laying around, but I was able to mount my webcam on it. The cable was also long enough to film my entire torso during the test. I can move the camera up and down but not sideways. When I set it up I didn't know how to use it at first because it was my first webcam. However, it was very easy, you don't have to install any software, you just have to find it in an app like Zoom that you use for your external camera. If you can find this option in the app you are using, that's all you have to do. This is my first purchase from Amcrest but I am very satisfied.
