After trying a few cheaper rods and getting frustrated I finally decided to spend a little more and get a quality stand. The stand is easy to assemble and adjust. The difference in quality is undeniable. It is strong and will not tip over even when the boom is full. I had a big problem tipping over cheaper arrows. I actually dented one of my mics like that. Very frustrating. All adjustment knobs are ribbed and tighten well. It doesn't start to sag after a few minutes like the others. I give this booth 5 stars. Buy this stand once or buy cheaper stands and keep replacing them. Like my review if it helped. Thank you - Will
