Great shelves at a reasonable price.

This mic stand is great, after using stage and similar stands for about a year before they broke I decided on something nicer. These K&M racks are great. Very strong construction and you don't have to overtighten them to fix them. The arrow isn't very long, but so far it's been enough for everything I need. Too bad I didn't buy them a few years ago. Even at a higher price I would actually save money.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Almost everything is there

Upper arm separated very quickly

Seemed strong enough at first but very quickly the upper extension arm came loose because the ball tensioner got stuck each time rendering it unusable. I know all barbell racks are like time bombs, but this one went up way faster than my $25 stage stand (which I still use). I perform a lot and was very disappointed. I hope it was just an accident but I would say be careful. K&M: I'm not a grouch. I would appreciate if you could prove me wrong. I'm looking for an arrow stand that isn't annoying.

1 year later and still looking for a quality durable stand

After a year of regular use this stand is completely broken. The top of the stand does not fit the bottom (screw loose). I appreciate the modular design to a degree, but more detail = more chance of failure. This stand was a huge disappointment after thinking I was making a solid investment. I tend to buy cheaper coasters and only swap them out 1-2 times a year rather than spending close to $90 for something that advertises quality.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Spend extra money and buy it!

After trying a few cheaper rods and getting frustrated I finally decided to spend a little more and get a quality stand. The stand is easy to assemble and adjust. The difference in quality is undeniable. It is strong and will not tip over even when the boom is full. I had a big problem tipping over cheaper arrows. I actually dented one of my mics like that. Very frustrating. All adjustment knobs are ribbed and tighten well. It doesn't start to sag after a few minutes like the others. I give…

Worth the money: Racks

I've been making music professionally for 35 years. I've bought a lot of mic stands over the years. I usually go with the cheapest I can find ($15-$20). They last for several months and then the pens wear out and become unusable. Last time I decided to take a different approach and bought the best I could find. They were significantly more expensive but they have worked great for me for 2 years and are still in perfect condition. They are used for 3-4 gigs every week. I have to say that you…

The most durable portable mic stand I've ever seen

I've had several mic stands over the years and my favorite was the incredibly durable and training stand with the "Abus" name on its base. It also has an "AKG" stamp on the top clip. I searched in vain for more of these, but couldn't find another one anywhere. Turns out these things are made by K&M and I recently bought them from Revain. I perform a lot outdoors in a variety of settings from fixed stages to grass fields. This K&M tripod bridges the line between weight and strength - it's harder

Pros
  • A Dream Come True
Cons

Used item?: Accessory

I'm tired of the microphone stand breaking at concerts. 3 in a year I gave in and bought what I thought was the best Revain had to offer. I arrived quickly packed in a Revain box. Inside the box was the original packaging for this stand. This package was torn open and appeared to have been opened and returned. There is no packaging in the box. stand parts only. No plastic to scratch. Normally, at a $20 stand, that wouldn't bother me. But that's not it. The stand appears to be in good condition.

Pros
  • Cool item
