I have an average hat size, I looked at the charts and measured and it was about 22 inches, definitely not a baby head and I wear this hat down to my earrings with no problem . I took a picture so you can see that I am a grown woman. Other people may have made the hat smaller by washing it, but I was expecting it not to fit based on the reviews and that's perfectly normal. It's also very warm and I love the quirkiness of the ears. I'm thinking of sewing them pink on the inside to make them look more like a cat. I personally recommend it to anyone who can wear a normal sized hat. /shrugs/ I have to give this five stars, I don't know why people's expectations are so attached to a huge hat. It's also very stretchy so I honestly can't imagine not being able to wear it. Maybe I just got lucky, but I doubt it. A little note with some color tips; You probably don't see it with the pixelated effect, but the beige hat makes my hair color wash out when I bleach it. If you are sandy or platinum blonde, I would go for a darker color.
