I think once I used it it worked well to cool my netbook. The room was a bit noisy than the next time I wanted to use it. It was dead quiet in the room and I could hear the fan and it bothered me. The next day the same. I also think it's the surface of the table. I will continue to use it. No one in the room seems to notice but me. UPDATE: I've been using it for 4 months now and can't use it anymore. I would have sent it back but I missed the date. But it's cheap; I got what I paid for. But it started making noise like an engine! I record my statements in a quiet room, except for interlocutors. I would be TERRIBLE if that engine noise started! Don't buy this. Spend more $$ and buy a better one.
