Works great! I got this to keep my Tablo DVR cool. It used to be very hot, but now the Targus Chill Mat will keep you warm and cool. It is powered from the rear of the DVR, so no outlet is required. I am very happy with this purchase!

Good as needed. It's VERY quiet, but the reason is because it doesn't blow much air. However, this may be enough depending on your situation. For the price, however, it's hard to beat.

As others have said, it seems a bit cheap, but it's probably good. It's light, I can feel a slight flow of air, and it's by far a better place to rest my Eee 1015pn than on my lap. Instead of my knees warming up the netbook, this thought will help cool it down. Even when I don't plug it in, it's still a nice little platform to put between me and a netbook. It's very thin and slightly smaller than a netbook, so it fits easily in a netbook bag and doesn't add to the overall packaging size.

Bought three in the last year. April, August and November 2012 one of the left fans failed. the other two, the socket, don't fit and fall out. I have contacted Targus and they want me to send each one and they will send me a new one. I have to pay $6 shipping for every $9 item. Customer service was terrible. Suitable for reducing the temperature of a constantly running laptop or any device that doesn't overheat badly. This can reduce the performance of a HOT running device, but you might want to consider a little more for severe heat issues. This can be used for many other electronic devices. I think once I used it it worked well to cool my netbook. The room was a bit noisy than the next time I wanted to use it. It was dead quiet in the room and I could hear the fan and it bothered me.
