We don't have a fenced yard and bought one for our labrador pup. It is used multiple times every day. We didn't notice any stretching and it stayed unkinked for the first month or so, but now it's a bit kinked and tangled. At turning points, the coating peeled off and a very sharp wire was exposed. It didn't seem to weaken him at all, but duct tape had to be used to protect the dog's fingers and mouth. Overall it works well and has kept her safe while exploring property lines, and the 100ft length still gives her the freedom to roam around a bit.
