This skirt feels about as warm as a skirt can get which is great for winter. The fabric feels like fluffy wool (but not real wool) and I love that the pattern is Christmassy enough to wear during the holidays but not so much that it can't be worn at other times . The size is a little big. . I have a small that fits a 27.5-28.3 inch waist as per the sizing chart. My waist is 28.5 inches and the skirt is a little loose but not unacceptable (it sits a little low on my belly button instead of my natural waist). If you want to put in heavier shirts/sweaters, please choose by size. Diagram. If not, or if you are on the smaller end of the size range, I would size down. more of a mid-length or ankle-length skirt. I didn't notice it in the photos but there is a seam at the front of the skirt. They did a good job of matching the plaid and it looks good, be aware this is not a true half circle skirt, cut in one piece, the pockets are nice but quite small, I only fit 80% of mine Hand.
