I bought this phone to replace a gift that the phone won't hold anymore. It's almost the same design but looks a little better. There is a release button on the bottom that releases the phone to take it out of the holder. The clip/extender that fits on the cup holder is slightly stronger and easier to use than my old model. The neck is strong and will stay where you put it after tightening the lock nut on the bottom of the holder. The neck length is perfect for my 2010 F150 with the phone right at seat height so you can easily control the screen when it's paused and it stays pretty steady while doing it. I share my truck with my son so it gets a lot of use and seems to be holding up well. I don't bother recommending this holder to anyone who wants the convenience that these devices offer. Update October 6, 2020 I bought this holder in July 2020 and it was working fine until a few days ago. Now he won't let go or get used to the phone. I had high hopes for this unit but it turned out to be of the same quality as the last one I had. And I don't drive that often so I've gotten used to it, maybe 2-3 times a week. So five to one star. I guess I'll have to keep looking for one that lasts. I can't recommend this device more if the $9 every four months doesn't meet your expectations. Doesn't match mine.
