I used to use these cheaper black digital thermometers and they kept falling off the reservoir glass. Also, they were very inaccurate and I had to check the readings in ice water to calculate a "correction factor" to determine the actual temperature. This thermometer reads 0°C/32°F in ice cold water - perfect! It seems that the statement plus or minus 2*F is true. I also love the high/low function. Once you press the reset button, the thermometer below will display the highest and lowest temperature readings. So if your tank drops a degree or two overnight or heats up during the day, you can see it. A small perk I didn't know about could be very useful. I wouldn't mind buying a few more of these for my other tanks. I highly recommend spending your money on a better quality product like this rather than mass produced products that are inaccurate and painful.
