I just love this little machine. I love the embossing on the cards I make, it adds a special extra millimeter per hour to each card. The maximum size that can be used is 4.25 inches x 5.75. I've used many brands other than Sizzix including Darice and Cuttlebug folders and they work great as long as they're not too big. I have the Sizzix Big Shot Plus which I use for larger embossing folders. Yes I have a Big Shot but I still love this machine. Sometimes I just want to emboss and not have to take apart the "big guns". It's also great because I recently had a craft day with my grandma who is in her 80's. She has always made postcards and I wanted to show her how she spends a lot of money on beautiful paper. . It actually stayed with her along with a couple of portfolios - when I was coining something she was so passionate. Of course I had to leave it with her, this is my grandmother. She's tried it and she's had no issues with the winding mechanism and she's so excited to be making new cards with him that I came home thinking I could pass it up as I've got the big shot but within one I skipped it last week and bought it again. Approved by Grandma, this product is a must-have for paper crafters. I saw them on sale last week at the Hobby Lobby and at Michael's for under $20 for the blue one that looks like a wallet. The only thing that could be improved is that the base could be stronger. You should be using this on a wood countertop and you will need to put some pressure on the top to keep it from slipping. But then again, my grandmother could use it perfectly, and so can you. Happy crafting. :)
