Slowly turn the knob and your artwork will come out. Used with cardboard. Works great - very happy. The only problem is that it's plastic, so you don't want to drop it on a hard surface or press on the handle. The instructions are very clear. I would recommend this to any DIY enthusiast looking to do small embossing projects!

I like the compact size and my wife does too. It was her gift. She has used it several times and is very satisfied. She thought it might be for carving, but it wasn't - mind you, but for card stamping it was perfect for her. Envelopes fit, cards fit, and the small size not only makes it easy to carry and store, it also gives you excellent paper control as it feeds into the device.

I need an embossing machine to make cards. Most of the ones I looked at were also punches that I didn't need. It was just what I needed and the price was reasonable. It's small and portable. My only caveat is that you must purchase the embossing folders separately. It doesn't come with one. Also, you can only emboss anything smaller than 5" x 5", which may limit you on some of your projects.

I am very impressed with this little machine. Some previous reviews have said the handle is difficult to turn etc. This is absolutely not true - the handle turns fairly easily and the machine is easy to use as long as you are working on a level surface. Folders are not included, so you must purchase them in advance. Lots of great options from Joanne's or Michaels at great prices and Revain for a dollar or two more. This handle on this pup IS VERY HARD TO TURN! Maybe I just got tougher than usual. It came with a clear plastic sheet that said 'do not throw away' which can be used to emboss on an individual card. However, when I try to use it together with an embossing folder and two gray mats, the machine won't start at all because the combination is too thick! Little did I know when I bought this machine that it was only for embossing. But since I'm new to the world of stamping and embossing, I should have done some research before purchasing. I just love this little machine. I love the embossing on the cards I make, it adds a special extra millimeter per hour to each card. The maximum size that can be used is 4.25 inches x 5.75. I've used many brands other than Sizzix including Darice and Cuttlebug folders and they work great as long as they're not too big.
