I really like this holder especially for the price. I bought it for a trip across the country so I could use google maps and my phone was easy to see on the dash. It had really good suction and lasted the whole ride. However, by the time I got to my destination, it was very hot (over 100 degrees most days) and on really hot days it started cracking off the dashboard. when it's very hot or when I've been hit hard. Of course, my dashboard is a textured surface. I've recently attached it to the windshield instead (which I don't always prefer) and haven't had any trouble releasing it. Overall I would say this is a very good buy for the price. Especially if you just want something simple. Update: It hasn't come off my windshield since I installed it there, so I think the problem is more related to the texture of my dash than the suction power of the holder. So 5 stars!
