My 14 year old dachshund daughter has eaten these chunks with soft canned food most of her life. I can't tell if they contribute to her stamina, shiny coat, sparkling eyes and desire to eat, but she is a loving dog and those parts have always agreed with her. They also have above average protein levels, which is recommended for dogs with Cushing's disease. I like that they are grain free; I don't think a dog's diet requires a constant intake of grains. I like the small size; They are just right for small breeds. I used to worry about a controversial ingredient. Carrageenan, but it's no longer on the list so I'm good enough with these pellets to give them a 5.
