I've been using the non-rechargeable, non-backlit version of this keyboard in my home office for years. For my studio I needed something that glows in the dark. It's good for that, it turns on when your hands move across the keyboard so you don't have to hit a (wrong) key to wake it up. Unfortunately, the battery only lasts about a week if left on after each use. . I installed the Logitech software to warn me when it's critically low. It also sometimes flickers or doesn't light up at all before reaching the warning. As I mentioned, only about a week of use compared to the 2xAA version which lasts about two years on battery, never turns off and uses all day 5 times a week. The matte finish wears out on the spacebar after about 6 months, so I'm not sure about longevity (similar to my other keyboard, 8 years). Otherwise, it's a fantastic keyboard, nice key layout, quiet enough (just a regular spacebar), and stays connected through a unified receiver. simply good. But that battery life isn't great and I was plugged into the USB port most of the time so I can't take it with me when I'm working in another part of the studio. So I'm on the fence with that, but haven't found a better solution yet.
