At the time of purchasing this coffee grinder, we were brewing filter coffee at home. The machine does an excellent job, although it still seemed to grind fairly fine-textured coffee on fairly high settings. After jumping ahead a few months, I decided to buy a commercial espresso machine. This grinder works great! I love that you can fine tune the number of seconds per shot and the fact that it does a great job of finely grinding espresso. When I got the coffee grinder, I threw the unnecessary accessories in the drawer and stumbled on the coffee grinder. Port filter holder about a week after I received my new espresso machine. This is a dream! You can insert a port filter (there are two holder sizes) and then press the button to get an accurate dose with no mess. This is one of those little design touches that bring joy! This grinder is cheaper and smaller than more expensive professional grinders. Few kitchens are big enough for them. This is smaller than a filter coffee machine and much smaller than my espresso machine. I've only had it for a few months, but so far I couldn't be happier.
