The taste of cigarette butts and burnt coffee. Poor grinder.

The coffee grinder works very well. This should give it good marks, but it destroys the flavor of the coffee beans, which is its main purpose. We have used Baratza Encore and Maestro Solis to grind beans for many years. The taste is always subtle, rich and varied, depending on the type of coffee bean. We've been using this product for a month and a half hoping all the bells and whistles will be worth it. They all work great, but the coffee tasted day after day, brand after brand, roaster after…

Great for espresso!

At the time of purchasing this coffee grinder, we were brewing filter coffee at home. The machine does an excellent job, although it still seemed to grind fairly fine-textured coffee on fairly high settings. After jumping ahead a few months, I decided to buy a commercial espresso machine. This grinder works great! I love that you can fine tune the number of seconds per shot and the fact that it does a great job of finely grinding espresso. When I got the coffee grinder, I threw the unnecessary…

Perfect for any type of coffee. This is probably a must for those who live (lived) in Austria (we lived 2.5 years) where there are 16 different types of coffee (rough estimate). I used a Braun grinder until I bought one and I can tell you that the flavor of my espressos, lattes and cappuccinos has been vastly improved. That makes sense to me as a chemist. The pressure during grinding significantly affects the process of extracting flavor nuances. I would like to compare it to garlic. It is only

So we used this for a few months and ground several pounds of coffee. We use a small drip machine Mr. Coffee and only make a few cups a day. The machine has worked well for us so far. We don't grind every morning, we grind every use for a couple of weeks. The only thing I don't like about this machine is that unless you're using a grind jar, you'll find that it's a bottom magnet. The plastic retains the static charge and the coffee grounds that don't fall into the container will stick to the…

Fingers crossed like many others

UPDATE AFTER 4 MONTHS OF USE: Love it! Just before I wrapped it up and sent Revain back, I decided to give him one last chance. Many customers here have said that the grounds jug/container can partially block the grounds chute in many positions. For example, if you slide the can all the way back, which seems natural, the chute will be partially blocked. This parachute is extremely sensitive to clogging. So people suggested another container, remove the lid, try to position it better, etc. I…

I accepted the gospel of Saint Grinder!

For years I've had coffee loving friends, my mother in law and many posts on online forums saying that a good coffee grinder is the key to a quality espresso. All the money in the world for a professional coffee maker wouldn't buy a mountain of gourmet coffee beans while I grind them with a $20 Krups knife grinder that I've used for 15 years. But I just couldn't understand how it could make such a big difference. And certainly not at prices that rival the espresso machines they should be…
