The coffee grinder works very well. This should give it good marks, but it destroys the flavor of the coffee beans, which is its main purpose. We have used Baratza Encore and Maestro Solis to grind beans for many years. The taste is always subtle, rich and varied, depending on the type of coffee bean. We've been using this product for a month and a half hoping all the bells and whistles will be worth it. They all work great, but the coffee tasted day after day, brand after brand, roaster after roaster, either burnt or like cigarette butts. We tried returning it, but our conscientious gesture of trying lots of coffees to make sure it's a grinder and not bad beans got us out of the returns window. We finally bought another Baratza Encore and the delicious, warm and subtle flavors are back. The grind of this coffee is just not good: it grinds the beans horribly and has to overheat them in the process. I don't recommend this if you don't like the taste of cigarette butts and charred coffee.
