Review on Graco-Sharpe 288887 Finex FX2000 Conventional Spray Gun, 1.8 mm: Optimal Performance and Precision for Professional Coating Applications by John Bailey

Glad to find this weapon among all HVLP weapons.

Unlike HVLP guns, this method moves material much slower, requires much higher pressure and requires more paint thinning, but works well with my old 1hp compressor. Happy to find this gun among all HVLP guns and find that it doesn't even vaporize paint like the HVLP gun I've used at lower pressures. In other words, less airborne material remains in the air. Using this weapon was a nice change from my old DeVilbiss weapon. However, please note that I have found that the automotive paint (urethane) I use requires fairly high pressure (80psi) even after thinning. Therefore, test your paint swatch beforehand to avoid overcoating material that is too thick as new formulas are being developed for high flow HVLP guns. The results were good, but I had to practice first to find the right mix.
