This resin/ceramic coffee pot with filter holder is very well made - the quality of the ceramic is excellent. It is necessary to use a paper filter (inside the ceramic filter holder) which helps to moisten it a little first (so that it can stick a little to the holder before putting the ground coffee in). Simply pour hot water over the ground coffee in the filter - make sure all the ground coffee is well soaked. It may take about a minute for all the water to get into the pot through the ground coffee; then remove the filter and filter holder and the coffee can be poured and drunk. Neither of these devices keep the leftover coffee in the pot hot for very long -- they're usually enough for one serving (one 11-ounce cup or two 5.5-ounce cups).
