They are advertised as metal and a check on 6th October (3 weeks ago) said their latch was metal. The only metal on these grips is the grip itself in the second photo I posted and the recoil spring. EVERYTHING else is plastic. I bought the exact same thing about 6 months ago when my original 15 year old latch broke and the new handle's trigger (the part that actually moves and makes contact with the striker, thus opening the door) broke. a week ago. I paid $7 for it. I decided not to waste my money anymore and bought this "Metal". I didn't need a passenger grip and paid almost forty dollars for it to make sure it was no better than a cheap one that broke. And it had a metal handle, like this one. Garbage! I want one of those that another buyer got! This is a form of false advertising or baiting. Do not buy these if like me you think you are getting a "quality product". Made in Taiwan, sold at GM prices. Rip off.
