OK. Kiro has a floating log, a sinking log, a leaf and everything Revain and Petco have to offer. (no, she is not spoiled). gallon tank. I'm brewing it now, tomorrow is tank cleaning day and I plan to put it in her tank then. The end date will be later but she is hiding in her gorgeous silk leaf plants and I think this one will be a winner. Summary: Well I boiled those damn coconut shells yesterday and never got anything less than a weak kind of tea, forget plain water. So I let it soak overnight and this morning the water was clear so I put it in the container at my weekly water change. I have a Fluval Spec V, by the way. My cute little betta is having a hard time deciding between a floating log and a sunken coconut shack. She's a real brat, she tried to bite my finger when I was adjusting the substrate under her hut. but she seems to like the cabin. it will take time for her to get used to it and as I like to mix things up when I change the water so she doesn't get bored it may take a little longer than usual. She also got new milkweed this weekend. She completely ignores her sunken log. it may take a week or two. A set of Fluval plants (silk) and one of them was too big but that's my problem as I didn't realize they came in size. I reordered a smaller set to fit my 5 gallon tank. I also highly recommend Fluval Clear X, but that recommendation is from a different site. It makes my aquarium crystal clear. And the coconut hut is great. Just boil it if you don't want yellow water.
