I was able to clone the entire hard drive from the OS to the new one with no problems and it booted on the first try. I used a 970 Evo NVME 1TB and cloned it to a 980 Pro 2TB. Small rubber pieces hold the HD in the dock, which is difficult to figure out how to get it to hold NVME, but once I figured it out everything else was easy. Also, the indicators will simply blink and slowly turn on until all indicators are lit. When the cloning finished I just turned it off as there is no power off button.
