later This is a great GFCI socket. Installing it in my bathroom was very easy and the outlet looks every bit as nice as a GFCI outlet can. The instructions were detailed and easy for those unfamiliar with electrical work. It's a fairly thin GFCI, which is a good thing as it gives more room in the box for the wires and means you don't have to deal with wires as much if you have a lot of them in the box. It comes in multiple colors, but white is great for our location. There are two things I particularly like about this GFCI. First, it is resistant to hacking. I have two young children so I replaced all of our outlets with tamper proof outlets so my kids can't put anything in there. Many GFCIs aren't tamper-proof, so it's nice to have that kind of protection. A little peace of mind. The second thing I like is the self-test option. A little more calm. It checks itself every 3 seconds to make sure everything is working properly and shuts down if something isn't working properly. It's a good little insurance policy. It also has a small light that shows the status of the GFCI. In general, GFCI is GFCI is GFCI, but this is a good way out. I like the extra features and the cost is in line with most GFCIs. Worth buying.
