Based on past experience, the brand has shown excellent results. I mostly use Grayscale + Fast for text and occasionally color or business quality as needed. For me the XL delivers noticeably, at least twice as much as I got from the standard size, provided I launch close to the ground and not at the first warning. Canon's own stats show a little less than a doubling in their yield tests, although around 68% of them are within standard size. This tells me that a lot of the ink is "lost" in the mechanisms used to get the pigment onto the paper.
