Nice, heavy, smooth and crystal clear acrylic. The entire block is 7 1/14 inches (in) long. The front and back are curved, so the device is wider in the middle than the ends - looks nice. Each of the three compartments has internal measurements of approximately 2 1/16" long, 2 1/4" wide, and 2 7/8" deep. The middle compartment's center is 2 15/16 wide. I bought it to Store pens and pencils but it's too big for the few pens and pencils I know My wife uses it to hold large sewing needles and she loves it.
