I bought this unit because of the fridge that heats/cools and will sooner or later turn me down. I had a digital block but its accuracy version was +/- 8 degrees Fahrenheit. That wasn't enough for me. This Taylor FAST adjusts to readings. The sleeve that comes with it has a good reason if you don't use it to eat. It is designed to be used with meat for safe cooking. So if you need to check the temperature of the burgers you're grilling or you're worried the fridge isn't cool enough, you can use this to check both. The only downside I've encountered so far, the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5, is that the connection or device seems a bit iffy. I haven't used it that much. Maybe I just need to put a new battery in, but there was no such warning. For the price it was worth it!
