I bought one of these a few months ago. I liked it so much I bought a second one for work last week. The one at home is fine - worked immediately. The one at work needed fixing - the positive wire that powers the USB connector was disconnected. .and there was no remainder of the stranded wire still soldered to the rod lest it break - it just never got connected. This tells me there is reason to be concerned about the manufacturer's quality. Most likely this will NOT happen to you, but there is always a chance. Just note that if the outlets work but the USB ports don't, that's probably the cause. FOLLOW-UP: August 19, 2021: The seller (Thousandshores Inc) contacted me to resolve the issue. I declined the offer because I could fix the problem, but the fact that they did was refreshing. Because of this, I increased my star rating.
