Heavy-duty mixer with a few upgrades

The price of this blender allows it to compete with the great kitchen helper (the blender that sets the standard). Overall it's a good, powerful mixer with a solid metal body, which we like, but there are a couple of points I'd switch. At this price, Kitchenaid is still the best buy. If it was 50% cheaper it would be a better buy. A few pros and cons plus. Full bowl coverage is better with a kitchen helper, and with that we scrape the edges and bottom far too often to get the full mix. The flat black top looks very sharp when clean, but boy does it smudge easily - constantly to polish off fingerprints. Overall, the kitchen helper still looks better. You can't beat this classic design. Finally, the handle on this bowl is shockingly cheap compared to the rest of this mix. The handles are flat-cut metal with no curve or added thickness. While they aren't "sharp" and won't cut you, I wouldn't exactly say they're comfortable to hold. The bowl handle detracts from the overall quality in everything else, which is pretty good. Finally, there are mixed feelings about the suction legs. Our kitchen helper has rubber stumps, this machine has rubber suction cups. I prefer suction cups because the device stays in place and is quieter. Also, rubber stumps sometimes fall out and get lost, which is annoying and expensive to replace ($15!). My wife HATES suction cups because they make it difficult to move around and hates the sound and feel of them being yanked off the counter (they really stick!). The ideal device will have both, allowing the end user to choose whichever style they prefer and use that.
