I used this to replace my old 28 series single step and it fitted perfectly. I had to take two steps when we raised the camper to increase ground clearance in wading situations and one step was too high. Many people including another seller have told me that the screw pattern will be different and I will have to drill new holes. In fact, the new stage has multiple screw patterns, including a 6-1/2 inch pattern that matches the previous step. Installation was pretty easy for anyone with basic tooling skills. The biggest challenge is the weight of the step and the logistics of leveling and installing the studs. It is best recommended to use a jack. In fact, we ended up just having one strong person lift it in place and the other tightened the bolts. Things went faster than expected on this front. But it's HARD and definitely a two person job. The electrical connections were direct replacements for the old ones and if I had to rewire them from scratch everything was included. Watch the YouTube video for help. The step itself runs smoothly and is much quieter than the previous one. Very happy with the exchange and would recommend biting the bullet and making a purchase. I hesitated and hesitated for months and even tried to get an addon for my old one. In the end I'm happy with it and think it will more than pay for itself over the years.
