I bought this book for my sister's 12th birthday. She had little origami experience and I didn't. Together we made different creations and had a lot of fun! Pros: They have a lot of characters, so you can follow the directions visually. There are no origami dragons in this book (my sister and I don't like dragons). The step-by-step instructions are very detailed. Cons: While the instructions were thorough, their wording was inconsistent. At the beginning there is a section where you will learn how to name the different folds you will use. Then in some projects the term "folds" was not used. For example, instead of always saying "Fold the valley," they sometimes said "Fold the paper in half." These inconsistencies were a little confusing (especially for a beginner!) Overall, I was happy with this book and recommend it as a good book. book for beginners.
