Not what I thought in the crafts and games section

The description of this product made it sound like it was a whole 'set'. It was actually a very small, heavily worn (I ordered "new") paperback booklet. Stated there was a box, there is no box, the instructions for making paper boxes are very misleading.

Not Quite for Beginners

This is great for those who already know origami, but not for beginners as they say. I really don't know how to follow the instructions. If you are dyslexic, you can also try an e-book that allows you to change the font and size. It was really difficult to read.

Fun and accessible to children's books

I bought this to replace a previous version from the same company for use in one to one counseling sessions with grades K through 8. It's easy, convenient, and affordable enough that with a little help, fourth graders can complete some of the simpler projects within a 30-minute class, while senior high school students can generally work on projects on their own. The only thing that confuses me is that there are more flower drawings in this book which do not generate the same excitement as…

Extremely Complex

I wish I could hear a reviewer say it's difficult even for adults. I made origami as a kid so I wanted to try it as an adult. The book talks about beginner and more complex projects, but doesn't specify which. I tried the very first project and it didn't come out right. Tried another, doesn't work. The directions are very difficult to understand. I'll get the papers and make it from the many free videos on You Tube. There's a lot of paper - that's the only good thing I can say about this set. I

Good book for beginners

I bought this book for my sister's 12th birthday. She had little origami experience and I didn't. Together we made different creations and had a lot of fun! Pros: They have a lot of characters, so you can follow the directions visually. There are no origami dragons in this book (my sister and I don't like dragons). The step-by-step instructions are very detailed. Cons: While the instructions were thorough, their wording was inconsistent. At the beginning there is a section where you will learn…

Almost perfect for children's books

Pros: >Good paper quality. >>> starts with simple origami characters and gradually becomes more advanced. CONS: > Instructions aren't "great" for beginners. > > > just a few elements for beginners before moving on to more complex ones. > Paper is one-sided. (Personal opinion. I don't like it because sometimes the white backing shows through). Because as you work through the book, you will meet REALLY cool origami characters. However, for a beginner like me, the…

If only all wrinkles were easy. then it wouldn't be art

I've always been a fan of origami, especially as a kid. into adulthood and I happen to create something at dinner time or when I have a piece of paper to spare. ha ha. My niece showed interest in the things I have created in the past and she also loved the crafts I showed her. Because of this, I decided to buy her some origami books to expand her "tricky" gene. lol As with any origami book, there are parts that are more difficult than others. That's how it's done. I mean if everything was easy.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
