Review on πŸ”’ TEKTON 3825 Locking C Clamp 11 Inch: Secure Grip and Versatility by Ben Demers

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Slippery instrument panel, required serious "adjustments " to work properly

Looks good (from afar) but the adjustment screw is very difficult to turn making this tool a real pleasure to work with trouble. The problem is that the geometry of the shank where the tip of the screw rests is rough and irregular in shape. I'm used to real McCoys (vise grip) which are easy to adjust and not nearly as good. Long story short, I sharpened the tip of the adjustment screw to make it more spherical in the end. , lubricated as hell, and now it's at least acceptable. Shouldn't have done it. You know the old adage, "Whoever buys junk owns junk." I wish I'd spent a few more bucks and bought the right product. Update 7/28/13: The company read my review and offered a free replacement - I'm impressed! However, the new device has its own problems: the grip is tilted to the side, causing the trigger to work randomly; It's no good if you can't open the pliers safely! Back in repair mode, I bent the handle back to center to make it work more securely, but the pawl itself isn't flat, so there's a limit to what I can realistically do. I'm glad the dealer made sure to send me a new one, but they really need to improve their quality control.
