I bought this to balance the bathroom in my new apartment with no heating and it works well. The room is too small to operate safely (according to the docs) indoors, so I put it in front of the door to blow in. The carpet in front of it is warm, but I've never left it on for more than an hour (at least so far) and haven't had any issues. The auto shut off is a small pressure sensitive button on the bottom of the heater which is pretty responsive which I appreciate. Even raising the heater to set it turns it off. I have mixed feelings about this, but I don't usually move the heater when it's on, so it doesn't really matter to me. Heats up quickly and warms my bathroom nicely.
