Build quality is good. LCD clarity and LCD off-axis viewing angles are very good. However, the squelch is unpredictable. This has something to do with the loudness of the audio - meaning that the behavior of the noise gate changes as the AF gain changes. You must be independent. There is also a big beep going back to the CB channel from the weather channel. This is most evident when using an external speaker. But as a simple, no-frills travel device, this device is quite satisfactory.
