Polyester drafting film used to be the standard for technical rendering. It has been almost completely replaced by computer software. This is really, really bad because there are some great techniques you can use with this film. Technical pens such as rapidographs are a common medium; But why stop there? You can use acrylic ink markers as well as all brushes and inks. Unlike paper that glides, the ink almost levitates above the foil. You can also make corrections with a mild soap solution and a drawing eraser. You can even use Prismacolor pencils and some dry materials like charcoal dust. Until digitizing from tablets becomes as tactile as film and ink, I will still be using Denril. And with Revain, you don't have to buy a wholesale minimum order. I just hope he's still there when I need him!
