I installed this on an Ender 3 Max - you have to remove the PSU for this or it interferes (I just benched the PSU at the back of the printer - it works fine.) On the Max, the threaded rod extends an inch or two past the end of the top rail, but I didn't see fit cutting it off. The included "instructions" consists of a horrible YouTube video where the camera shakes, the steps are fuzzy, and some parts don't match the equipment that came with it. However, I finally found out. An important step after installation is to ensure that the X-Portal is level along its entire length. You may need to manually rotate the lead screw (with the stepper motors off) to fine tune the alignment. Once you've done this you should be done. Before installing, you should have the alignment complete - if the gantry is not properly assembled, forcing alignment with the second Z-lead screw will simply damage the POM wheels. After I set everything up, everything works fine.
