This device has changed lives. After loving it so much I showed it to my parents and now they both have one. Meanwhile, ever since I wrote my original review, I've been looking for a battery-free device to take in checked luggage for business trips. I switched to a different brand and device and realized even more how good this one is. The fact that it's wireless makes a huge difference, and the fact that the battery lasts for multiple 10-15 minute cycles means I've never had to use it plugged into a power cord. The back has a slightly slanted hard foam shape, making it easier to position yourself under or next to you to find the "right spot". After a long day away from home, tight muscles from work stress, or spending too much time in the car or on the plane, I crave and crave it on the way home. If you've had a good deep tissue therapist, now you have the magic touch to find and break those tight muscles. This device is as close as you can get and the parts feel high quality and are similar to what I've found on the full body massage chairs you can find at the mall or airport. If I have a day when my body aches, I will use this to 'chase' tight muscles sometimes from the neck or shoulder, to the side, to the hip, to the leg or foot and 'out'! This one is rechargeable compared to 2. It has a power button on the back. My other brand has it on the front and I often accidentally turn this unit off3. These have a nice soft cap on the front and appear to run in some sort of sealed grease4. It has a nice slow response when switching from forward to reverse. The other stops a little abruptly. I'm already a few months old and I really love this device. The only downside I can think of is that I sometimes wonder/worry if it's on charge, or accidentally leave it on occasionally. So far this hasn't been a big problem.
