My computer was one of the first to have XP installed and USB 2.0 wasn't available when I bought it in 2001 but I didn't need a new computer. However, when I bought a new IPOD it was inevitable that I would need the much faster speeds that USB 2.0 offers. So I asked a friend how to do it. It's very easy! I ordered and received the card, opened the computer, tried to unplug and avoid static electricity, plugged my new card into the PCI slot (my friend showed me what it looks like), plugged everything back in. XP recognized the new hardware and that was it. It couldn't be easier. My IPOD is super fast now, and I also have a FireWire option just in case I buy something else that needs it. I definitely recommend this card. It was easy and it works.
