We received new bathroom fixtures with eight of the same 40w halogen bulbs. They were too bright and almost required sunglasses to enter the bathroom (it's a small cookie cutter sized second bathroom with bath, toilet and sink, it's not a large main bathroom). While the light emitted by the 40-watt bulbs was pleasant and not inherently cold, they resembled stage lights more than regular bathroom lights—neither good nor comfortable. We quickly decided that we needed lower wattage bulbs. At first we were concerned that those 25-watt bulbs wouldn't be bright enough, but they aren't - they give off a nice, even and bright light and don't cast any noticeable shadows like 40-watt bulbs. . They are much more suitable for work and are also good for makeup. I recommend them to anyone who wants to soften it like we did.
