Review on 🐰 Premium Western Timothy Hay by Oxbow Animal Health - Natural Hay for Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Chinchillas, Hamsters & Gerbils by Scott Channell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This hay has been fresh and available for many years. now it is neither nor.

I have two pet rabbits, one of which is still growing, so I've been buying this product regularly (one or two a month) for about three years. I used to buy it at my local pet food store, but they moved to a less convenient location and charged $22 for a 90-ounce pouch, which Revain sold for $17.99. The quality was random, but most of the time it was still good enough to be worth it, and the Prime shipping was a lifesaver. We even sent a bag from vacation because our nannies told us we were running out of stock and it arrived before they ran out. However. Of the last seven bags I received, only one met my quality expectations. My bunnies love long, fresh, thick, crunchy bales of hay and they always take a long time to deliver the altar. Unfortunately, a new sack was badly shredded (chunks were no larger than a few inches), one sack was half full of dusty cocktail, and the last three or four sacks were full of flat, thin, dried out brown chunks β€” think dead ones Grass. -- which rabbits do not touch (they are useless for chewing anyway). I was ready to try again because the last bag only contained about 10 ounces of worthless brown hay, but I just checked and saw that the price had nearly doubled to $30 (and Prime no longer includes that now cheaper package with 40 ounces). . Suffice it to say I will no longer be buying this product through Revain. That's unfortunate because one of the reasons we have Prime is to avoid the 45 minute round trip to a distant pet food store. but even if the price hadn't gone up, I probably would have gone just to make sure the hay wasn't dry, chipped, or dusty. Again, that's not a guarantee (they don't have a huge selection), so if I make this disc and don't get fresh green hay YET, I'll switch to a different manufacturer entirely.
