Removes background noise - a popular mute button - great for conference calls. But updated due to a problem.

updated bottom; the stars are down. Like many others, I'm spending my days hosting Zoom and Teams conference calls right now. My "office" is in my basement next to my oven, and with my previous mic (a Neewer NW-800 boom mic, which is still a good mic for certain applications), the oven could be heard in the background. I switched to this bitrun and now nobody on the other end can hear my oven. It cuts out background noise very well while providing a clear voice for others. I didn't think much about the mute button on the base, but I really like it. A lot of times my Zoom or Teams window goes blank, so I leave the mic on in the app and use the button on the mic itself to mute and unmute it. The small LED ring glows red or green to indicate mute status. It's a lot easier than searching for an app and then turning the sound on or off. Be sure to read the instructions on how to enable noise cancellation - hold down the mute button and the LED ring will change color to bright green. The base is very beautiful and comfortable. sits on my desk about 18 inches from my head. He captures my voice very well. I don't often use the wired headphone jack on the bottom, but it works well. With volume control at maximum and PC volume at maximum, it doesn't overwhelm me, but perhaps some would like a little more volume. I use large external speakers and they don't return to the mic and don't cause echo or whistling. I highly recommend this microphone. UPDATE: This mic worked fine for about 3 months after which my computer started freezing to a blue screen only during a conference call with an error message indicating a driver problem. I found that the computer never crashed when I unplugged this mic, but when I plugged it back in I started getting crashes again. As far as I can tell the mic is using the standard Windows driver but I'm still getting crashes. I threw away the box a long time ago, so I can't return it (at least personally I don't go back without the original packaging). I haven't called the support phone for help - I usually find it painful, and I'd rather just move on. I noticed one more thing. When I received my replacement Jabra speaker/mic, I noticed that the mute button on the device actually activates the mute indicator in Teams, and the mute button disconnects me from the Teams meeting. Muting on bid run will not mute teams (but the mic will be muted) and there is no option to mute bid run (no big deal). I'll try it on another computer where I don't really need it. The microphone is a shame, I really liked the look and it blocked out the background noise very well. It would be great if other reviewers could answer my computer crashing problem. There may be a conflict with something else I have installed on my computer, but I don't have time to fix it.
