They are great for running coax cable through a window antenna system. With traditional connectors in particular, the rigid coaxial cable exits perpendicular to the window, making it difficult to close blinds and curtains. When installed, the coaxial cable runs parallel to the window and can run under the bottom of the blinds and down the side when the blinds are closed. Based on my very accurate SWR antenna analyzer they don't affect the SWR - at least not on 40m where I transmit most of the time. All 80-10m bands have low SWR. I haven't tested them on 2 meters (yet) (although I use them for that), tested SWR with and without.
