Revainrating 5 out of 5

Expectations met and exceeded.

I installed two of these on my horse trailer so I can buckle and unbuckle my horse and find things in my harness room when it's dark outside without draining the truck's battery. Up until a few days ago I didn't know if they would light up their surroundings well, but now I'm back from a long hike with my horse and here are my updated thoughts: I've ordered two more of these lamps for the hold (horses) of mine by the way trailer. Brightness means nothing, even tiny LED bulbs are "bright". What really matters is the amount of light the lamp puts out (candle wattage or lumens) and how well the lamp illuminates the area in question. Now I can say that these lamps met and exceeded my expectations in terms of lighting, which I believe is around 50 candles. The color is almost 'daylight' without all that nasty blue in it which means together with lots of candles lit by lamps every detail stands out very well lit. I think I would have preferred the "warm white" light in the living area, but for harnessing and grooming my horse with the outside light and navigating the tackle box with the inside light, the colors were right and everything was noticeable. in perfect detail. In other words, the lamp performance and color output have optimized my visual acuity. The second thing to consider when choosing lamps is how many amps they draw. These bulbs draw a fraction of the current drawn by the original incandescent bulbs, allowing me to leave the light on for much longer when the truck engine isn't running. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, how durable are the bulbs and will they withstand the harsh conditions and vibrations of the road? No decision has been made on this yet, so I'll take my old lightbulbs as a backup, but after 600 miles of the occasional dirt road, so far so good. But one thing: the LED elements are visible from the outside. Bulbs and can be damaged if squeezed or twisted too hard. They're not enclosed in a glass bulb, probably for refrigeration purposes (refrigeration extends their lifespan), so be wise and careful with them when installing them. So far they more than deserve five stars.
