My child's Safety 1st Ultrasonic Humidifier has been making some grinding noises lately and after gaining some time greasing the fan spindle I finally decided to replace the fan with a new one. In terms of form factor, this SoundOriginal fan is an exact replacement for the original fan. It's relatively quiet (although you always hear a whirr, just like the original fan) and maybe blows out a little more air, which can cause the mist to blow out a little more before it hits the ground - which I think is great is. as this gives the fog more time to penetrate the room air. It should be noted that the polarity of this fan is opposite to the original, so you will need to swap the red and black wires. in the base. To do this, position the connector so that the two metal strips are pointing upwards. Then use something (a toothpick or a blunt knife blade) to press down on one of the strips and gently pull on the wire. Once you push down on the strip just enough to disengage it from the retainer, the wire will slide out of the connector. Do the same with the other wire, then insert each wire into the other's hole in the connector until it snaps into place. This whole process only takes a minute. Replace the original fan with a new one, connect the connector to the pins on the humidifier, and you're done!
