Good knife but mine isn't square

Overall I like this knife except for three things: Despite using inches for measurements, the focus is on metric measurements. If I want to measure something at 5 inches let's say there is a 5 inch mark but the line that goes through the cutter which makes setting up the paper square much easier is cm and is not at the 5- inch mark . .So I have to use the square I bought to get the measurement via the rotary cutter. The other thing is that it's not square. I called Dala and they sent me a link on how to make it square (flip and adjust screws) which is good but time consuming for me. I wanted to get it square, at least initially, and over time I had to fine tune it. Finally, it is difficult to cut paper less than 2.5 inches without removing the plastic guide that holds the paper. It's possible, but a pain. I often have to cut 1/4 inch pieces that need to be square and clean. At the moment I cut about 6 inch paper and then just use the measuring guides on the sides of the cutter to cut until I can't cut anymore. Because of the plastic guide. It's about 2/5-3 inch paper that I can't use. However, I love a clean cut!

Pros
  • Paper cutters and blades
Cons
  • So far so good
