After struggling with wide open tongs and having to restrain them with a champagne cork wire cap which I then had to remove each time I used it and put it back . I gave up and bought these wonderful little guys. They're well-mannered, in the sense that they don't try to push or tangle all the other items in the jug on my counter next to the stove, where I keep my most important kitchen utensils. They take up little space and are easy to hold. They also stay open or closed depending on what I prefer and have a great shape that doesn't rip food but instead twists and moves it perfectly. They work great and I highly recommend them.
