Avoid spray gun fingers

I should have bought this before deciding to spray my porch railing. Instead, I bought it after more than an hour of spray painting with rattle cans, thinking they should be used, and discovered a phenomenon called "spray fingers". I noticed that the tip of my index finger where it pressed on the nozzle was completely numb and there was a slight tingling sensation in the area. Out of curiosity, I did a quick Google search which showed several people complaining about this and many even noting that it takes months to a year to regain feeling in the affected area. Apparently, squeezing a can of paint with your fingertip can actually cause nerve damage, and since nerves heal incredibly slowly, the damage is likely to last a long time. It's been about 2 months since my fingertip went numb and thankfully most of the feeling has returned. In short, if you're doing big paint spraying projects, you should definitely buy one of these! The trigger is much easier to use. Squeeze and the clip attaches securely to the top of every aerosol can I've tried it on. I don't know why some reviewers have pointed out that they can't hold the can when shaking. Just don't shake the handle. Save the jar to shake before use. I'm assuming these are the same people who get sucked into the mysteries of the commercials.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction withstands repeated use
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product
