The tips were sharp out of the box, the handle is a bit small [thin] in my hands, but I really like the detachable stop so I can cut out the center of the leather project with a steel fence ruler and run my groove along the ruler as far as necessary . I only use size 1 attachments to match the thread size I use, but other attachments are available if I need to upgrade to a thicker thread size for a heavier holster or leather repair.
